A little bit of contemporary style for your very eyes.. all of these images are from the portfolio of Richard Powers, a UK photographer who captures interiors images for magazines such as Wallpaper*. Very lovely stuff.
Check out the rest of his work >here<…
Any of these images tickle your dream-home fancy?

Still going strong on the second hand posts..! (Missed the first one? Read it >here<) This little knit jumper was all of €3.00, and it’s the perfect throw-it-at-yourself piece for the wardrobe.
Worn for dancing with a €7.00 Penneys sequins skirt, worn casual with a €5.oo khaki Penney’s beach skirt. You can’t beat Penney’s skirts with a big stick.

This is the casual Summer wardrobe of my dreams- mostly comfortable and loose, but with bits of sparkliness and shimmer. My budget will be sliiightly less than that of Vogue. The model is Mona, the ‘Swedish Kate Moss’ and the shoot was Styled by Emmanuelle Alt, the Fashion Director of Vogue Paris.

I like incredibly high heels. I will wear runners when working out. There is no in-between…until now. I FINALLY found a good mid-height heel and they only cost €20.oo in Penneys!! I am quite short so never thought I’d get away with the calf situation on a sock/shoe/boot situation such as this, but these are surprisingly flattering and comfortable.
I am also utterly smitten with this grey leather clutch from Zara - €10.00 in the sale!! How good is that - in fact, Zara is pretty much amazing right now, fantastic A/W and an actually decent sale. (Thanks to my lovely friend D who got the bag for me as a little treat.. x)
Shoes and a leather bag for 30 bills - good day!

Ikea are FINALLY open in the ROI…meaning an end to those exhausting ik-trips to Belfast, yay! The majorly good news is that there is no Topshop-esque price difference, in fact, if you are buying for your business and getting the VAT back, it’s actually cheaper as our VAT rate is higher than the North. (* I’m not an accountant so I’m prepared to be wrong on this…*)
The bad news? The new room set-ups on their website are so overstyled, it’s blinding. I’ve always thoroughly enjoyed the Ikea catalogues, they’re great inspiration…but this latest collection of shots is just TOO jammed with stuff, with the furniture laid out in an unsettling unsymmetrical manner . I managed to find three that pleased me well enough though..(see above.)
The Maskros light fixture (€105.00) in the first and last image is by far my favourite thing from the PS collection…it’s not on the Irish site just yet, so see it >here <
Using floorboards on the walls (second photo) is just a bit clever and retro! I like it!
Oh P.S - Do you want to buy new covers for your Ikea furniture, but don’t like the spare cover designs in Ikea? Check out Bemz. They have wonderful selection of covers made in a variety of fabrics, and all made to fit Ikea couches and armchairs!
P.P.S Buying lots of stuff, but don’t want to put it together? Check out THE ‘best-named’ flatpack putter-togetherers : ‘Simple Assembly Me Hole’ They ‘ll put all the flatpacked stuff together for you and charge a flat fee of €30.00 per item. Good deal if you like having any kind of time left in the day and unchewed finger nails.
Are you going to pay a visit to Ikea? Got any favourite or definite purchases? Share them!

I was verrrrrry excited to be invited to the Irish Fashion Bloggers Brunch on Saturday in the Marks and Spencers restaurant, Grafton St. I missed the start as I was at a styling workshop (more on that later..), so arrived all a-late and a-fluster, but not to worry- they were SUCH a lovely bunch of bloggers! Annmarie O’Connor of IBlogFashion organises the monthly meet up, each time in a different venue, and she does quite the marvellous job. The table was an eclectic mix of people from fashion, shopping, culture and streetstyle blogs including among others : Bluebirds Are So Natural, Angela Scanlon, Beaut.ie, The Savvy Shopper, Perk Up Vintage Clothing and Dublin Streets.
The food was really incredibly good (*note to self, leave car at home to partake in the Cava*) - particularly the Eton mess dessert. Next time you’re on Grafton Street, call up for this light, sweet simple tumble of strawberries, cream and meringue. Actually…eh..I think I need to go to Grafton St. today for emmm…something!
Such a lovely day out, check out the Irish bloggers, there are some fantastic writers and archivists out there on our little green island…

After featuring the fantastic Interior Stylist Atlanta Bartlett a couple of weeks ago (see that post >here<) I thought it was high time to take a break from the clothes, and bring you some images from the portfolio of Twig Hutchinson. Not only does she have a fantastic name, but a brilliant eye for simple, rustic and comfortable set ups.
The curtains on the bed in the second photo made my heart skip a beat - I had a search through the interweb and found this similar pair > couleur-chanvre.com … they’re certainly NOT ikea prices, but so beautiful.
Through doing up a few houses, I’ve found that grey is an often overlooked but underestimated neutral. I love the Cabot Cape Cod Grey, which is just about to be discontinued - eek! It’s a very calm taupe-toned grey, which offsets white walls perfectly.
Hope you enjoy Twig’s photos, see more here > twighutchinson

First up we have my new lovely love - stitsh - a streetsyle blog with a difference. These genii tell you where you can buy stuff similar to what the streetstyl-er is wearing, and this pleases me. It’s great to use Street Style images as inspiration when going shopping and all that jazz, but so much better to just click and shop. *sigh*
Part two is ffffound - which is exactly that, a collection of images fond all over the interweb. Some are just beautiful or interesting photos, others are interiors, product design, gig posters…basically things that would be of interest to anyone interested in anything aesthetic. You’ll love it.
Click below to see my current list of links… feel free to send me some sites to check out!

This trouser suit is not something anyone would ordinarily go looking for, but for €10.00, and made of snazzy gold silk, it’s a done deal! This suit is incredibly well made, another reason to buy vintage/second - hand…you get much more fizz for your buck..or something.
Gold Suit from Vita Second-hand shop in Kilkenny : €10.00
Staw hat, second-hand : €3.00
Black belt, second hand : 50c
Black tux jacket from Vita Second-hand shop in Kilkenny : €5.00

Three quick images, a beautiful dining room swiped from the excellent blog Black Eiffel, and an epic little outfit from Vogue China..if I was going to my debs all over again, this is definitely the look I would go for…
And how cool is that HUGE print in the dining room. I’ve noticed that little random frames are starting to take over the lovely blank whiteness of my aparta-mento, time to put them all in one room and go for just one or two huge prints in the main rooms, methinks. It’s amazing how quickly your home can get cluttered up, those charity shop trips don’t help, of course…
Last is an image from the flickr set of Daan - see the rest > here!

I decided to get my makeup done in Mac in Brown Thomas on Saturday evening, I was having one of those ‘My Face Isn’t Working’ days, so thought the makeup session would prop me up for the night out ahead. I managed to get an appointment with Dee, a funky art student who spent an hour pampering and applying the head offa me…she’s really talented, particularly at eye makeup.
The cost?.. You buy €25.00 worth of products and they do your face for free, and I can honestly say, it was the best 25 bills I’ve spent in a long-ass time.

Taking a break from the epic Second-Hand shop acquisitions to post a few photos that Dave over at The Coffey Filter took yesterday. I was out in my parent’s house, and on my travels through my mother’s clothes, discovered that she has a sliiight collection of vintage hats. As in, there were gazillions of them stashed all over the house. I eh…helped her declutter by thieving this little straw Bloomsday type number.
Hat : Vintage, I imagine no more than €3.00
Lace body : Topshop, present from my sister.
Black Bandeau bra : American Apparel
Skirt : H&M around €23.00
Tux Jacket : Urban Outfitters, but from the second-hand shop : €5.00
Belt : Vintage 50c
Wedges : Faith €12.oo ish
Thanks for the photos Dav-eed!

I know grown women who would vomit at the thought of wearing velour or velvet or velveteen or any vel-related fabric. Me, not so much. I got this wiiiiiiide tunic top thing in THE second hand shop (otherwise known as Valhalla). Combined with the same elasticated belt from yesterday, it has become a much more form fitting thing. I will also cover my ass before going out, fret not…. I have a nice ickle navy sequinned bodycon dress that will do the trick.
Navy top/dress : €6.00
Vintage belt : 50c
Vintage man’s hat : €3.00
Shoes (unseen) : Same as last post, gold Gils.

I’m back from my lovely holidays, so I popped into my local charity shop for a quick browse, with my friend Caroline… all I have to say is - ‘Oh dear sweet baby Jebus in your little cart in heaven, if Stephen Hawking was wrong, and you do exist, then I thank you from the bottom of my cold, black heart!’ I don’t think either of us has EVER had such a good day in the one second hand shop. I spent around 70 euro, and I got soooooo much stuffage, more than I could even fit in the photo above.
I will be doing a proper post on everything I got over the coming days, along with some posts from the holliers. Oh…and putting some stuff in the shop too hopefully. Have to make room!
First up….
INSANE cropped vintage trousers : €4.00,
BRAND NEW Urban Outfitters orange lace bandeau bra : €2.50.
BRAND NEW Urban Outfitters cropped tux jacket : €5.00.
The belt was from another charity shop - 5oc.
The shoes are Gil Carvelho - bought my second pair of these on ebay after I wore the first pair to death. I paid €60.00 the second time around.
Happy, happy days. I was feeling a little in a style identity rut - you know - the ‘what look next’ feeling? Now I have decided for sure - it’s time to return to vintage…

How many times have writers used the ‘be still my beating heart thing’, I wonder, and didn’t actually have to ask their heart to be still. They must have been lying, because I can’t imagine anything in their lives inducing such Danielle Steel feelings as these plastic, high, shiny, cheap looking, dominatrix, three strapped, spiky €23.00 contraptions from Penneys.
I have never been a huge fan of shoes, bags were my thing, but these shoes may as well have come in an orange robe, because they converted me. My friend and I had to remind ourselves to breathe when we found this one solitary pair, a return from Newbridge, on a shelf in Penneyland, Kilkenny.
I only took a quick snap of them here, worn with my new stonewashed grey Penneys’ leggings (€7.00). I was getting ready to go on my holidays, so didn’t have time to put together an outfit…but! I have brought them with me to wear out in Barcelona, so expect further outfit posts involving these bad boys very, very soon.
