I decided to get my makeup done in Mac in Brown Thomas on Saturday evening, I was having one of those ‘My Face Isn’t Working’ days, so thought the makeup session would prop me up for the night out ahead. I  managed to get an appointment with Dee, a funky art student who spent an hour pampering and applying the head offa me…she’s really talented, particularly at eye makeup.

The cost?.. You buy €25.00 worth of products and they do your face for free, and I can honestly say, it was the best 25 bills I’ve spent in a long-ass time.

Oh yeah she did a great job - Nice pic B!

I love anything Mac and have a bit of a thing for Bobbi Brown too, especially the eye shadows.

B make up is fandabadoozy:) my little sister works in MAC Brown Thomas in Limerick and is absolutly amazing if I do say so myself, she has made me eyes look as pretty as they ever looked and makes it all look so easy, I love the old bit of pampering myself, but I hate they way it never looks the same when I do it……. :(

I know Amy, I totally agree - do Mac teach them to do it like that or is it the brushes they use?…because I tried my best the next day and didn’t get it looking even remotely as good.

I got the eye pencil in graphite - it’s SUCH a good eyeliner, it goes on really soft and you can blend it into eye shadow…

I also got the mineralize foundation which is lovely and light and glowy but needs to be blended in a lot, otherwise you get that orange face sitcheeation…!

I usually love MAC products and their sales people but I had a bad experience when I ventured to their counter last week. I was dying with a cold and my toddler was cranky and the husband wasn’t much better so I decided to treat myself to a new blusher. Sadly the young, sexy things behind the counter were far too wrapped up in…welll nothing acutally, to even cast a glance my way. But I really like their stuff so I continued to peruse (which is hard to do with a struggling toddler and bored hubby). Finally, one of the four girls approached me and in a very off hand manner, casually threw her hand in the direction of the blushes and walked back to her…nothingness and just left me there! Feck this says I, i’m off to Bobbi Brown. Whereupon a fabulous Swedish lady in her 40’s (or maybe older but she looked bloody great) took me under her arm and sat me down. She made me up with the new natural look make up. You look like you’re not wearing anything but look so fab! I bought tons of stuff, including Bobbi Browns first book. Far more than I intended to spend.

Sometimes it’s all about the sales person.

(Please note this MAC counter was on the Gold Coast in Australia, i’m sure the Irish MAC girls are waaaaaay better at customer relations).

PS You’re make up here is really, really cool Blanaid! I’d love an occasion to get that dressed up and sexy eyed.

I can NOT believe those cowbags! I have a good mind to write a strongly worded letter… Seriously, how did you stop yourself from at least spitting on them, before opening a can of whup ass on their ignorant little behinds?

Bobbi Brown stuff really is amazing though isn’t it? I read a piece by the lady hersel’ before, where she says that you shouldn’t pat on your moisturiser, you should really push it into the skin. I’ve been doing that since and it really does have an effect…

    What did you buy?

  8. Mags says:

Push it into the skin? How do you do that lol! I’ll give it a go and see.

I bought the new sheer colour range which consists of the blusher (in a cool fat lipstick twist tube). Really easy to apply. You can put loads on and never mess it up. Plus a lip gloss that barely stains your lips and is not sticky! So you won’t be accidently pulling your hair out by it’s roots every time the wind blows them across your gob. That can really, really hurt! Plus I bought new gel eyeliner and brush. That was a silly purchase as I can’t apply eyeliner, well only only my left eye. But this gel seemed so much easier to use. But that’s how nice that lady was, she made me buy shit I can’t even use lol!

PS I didn’t spit on the girls but I made sure to walk past their counter on the way out and drop my Gold Visa card and BB bag in front of them lol!

PPS I didn’t really do that, I just wish I had.
