inspirational-shota

As you may or may not know, I’ve written a couple of interiors features for the Irish Independent (< click to read the first article)recently; where I take a property that’s for sale and give it a hypothetical makeover using products sourced from around Ireland and the internet.

Soooo…over the next few weeks, I’m going to post all of the products I’ve found on my trawls, in the hopes they may be of some use, even if it’s just to look at…!

I’ll also upload the PDF’s of the articles when I get an afternoon..

Mabel & Violet is totally great, want their sparrow wall sticker… want own house first. Sob. Interiors make me so sad now.

  2. blanaid says:

No wait, look at it this way, every month it takes to get own house, is money saved as prices fall - which means MORE money for asos, Mabel & Violet and Topshop. (Any help? Any help at all?)

  3. Rosemary says:

Hmmm. Your logic has its flaws (as in, I should be saving!) but I see what you’re getting at. Annoying thing is, I am both saving and spending this month due to amazingly fortuitous sequence of events, so I could be paying off a mortage AND decorating my house, if I had one. Incidentally, have you seen the dotey daybeds in Ikea? I went there yesterday and decided I want one, sooo nice! Almost as nice as a window seat.

  4. blanaid says:

I did see them and I love them, and such a good price!

I think you should start buying things you love, like that day bed, even though obviously you don’t know where you’ll end up at the moment. I have a haul of furniture and things I’ve moved from house to house, and because I love them, they’ve suited every place so far!

  5. Paula says:

Ladies, you’re making my heart sing here! Thanks for the linky love Blanaid and I missed the feature so this is brilliant!!

I like your thinking on the spend/save issue, hadn’t thought of it like that before but will from now on as we continue to rent. I’ve been putting off a long overdue trip to Ikea but I think I’m ready and will be checking out those day beds Rosemary, I’ve always had a bit of a romantic notion about day beds….sigh.

  6. Rhona says:

i love that print… so eerie yet beautiful…. wonder how much that costs????

  7. Rosemary says:

Blanaid you’ve made my mind up for me. Next trip to Ikea I’m stocking up - only problem is there’s not much room in my parents’ to store furniture, and if I put it downstairs it’ll get wrecked because it’s very draughty, damp etc. I must discuss it with them. I guess antique stuff is more worth investing in, because Ikea will always be there whereas one-off pieces need to be snapped up. But I definitely will be keeping an open mind.

  8. blanaid says:

Rhona: Her prints are really inexpensive! She is one of the most talented photographers I’ve ever seen, really knows her stuff.

  9. blanaid says:

Paula : My pleasure! Your site is full of fabulousness…x

  10. blanaid says:

Rosemary : That’s ideal, a couple of little vintage bits and bobs - get yourself on ebay.de, much better than ebay.com/.uk!

  11. Maria T says:

I love that photography print too, very atmospheric.
