Next trip to Ikea I'm stocking up - only problem is there's not much room in my parents' to store furniture, and if I put it downstairs it'll get wrecked because it's very draughty, damp etc. I must discuss it with them. I guess antique stuff is more worth investing in, because Ikea will always be there whereas one-off pieces need to be snapped up. But I definitely will be keeping an open mind.
