Isn’t it interesting how a failed relationship can become one of your favourite friendships? How you really, truly, unselfishly want them to be happy, just because they are kind and brilliant, and one time you loved them, and the best part of that remains.

Sometimes you have to indulge the parts of you you’d rather didn’t exist. The tired part of your brain or the dark side of your mood or the imperfect part of your physicality. Nobody wants to just live for tomorrows, but sometimes, it helps you to give up on today. And sometimes, giving up is an achievement in itself …so, go to bed, get some sleep. There will be a better day. There will be a natural moment when it stops feeling like an effort, and that is worth all those forced moments you spent trying to pretend that you were okay.

Just a collection of black and grey randomness. Mostly found on ffffound. I’d link them all individually, but they’re from the backlog of my folders, sorry!

Colouring inside the lines is no more. Paint is sloppy and spilled and distressed and clumpy and looks like you did it yourself, which is great news, as I am the world’s most impatient painter. I generally end up with it all over the floor, myself, the furniture, the cups and cutlery, the taps, my toothbrush, my car door handle, my front door handle, the towels, my pillow, everywhere. So I’m welcoming the disorganised application method with open, paint-covered arms.
It’s also particularly suitable for our new apartment, which some of you may remember, we tore asunder when we moved in…On taking the carpets up, we realised the floorboards were destroyed with paint and stain, but it looked kind of brilliant, so we left them as they are… See some of the images > here <

Images found ages ago and source not saved, please do tell me if you know the photographer/original site.
Why would you spend 2K on a diamond engagement ring, when you could have this YSL beauty for €335.00? Stunning. It would almost make me consider the whole marriage thing (in the far, far distant future), OR I could just work hard and buy it for myself. Yeah, think I’ll go with the latter, less hassle. See it >here<

Yeah, you are better than that, and fine, I know you’re scared. But… this is not a dress rehearsal and I don’t think that either of us believe for a minute that sitting around thinking about the play is quite the same as getting up on the stage. You’re brilliant, just start.

One more shoot post from Ciúin Tracey, bit of a crazy/evil/demented take on a regular ball-going ‘ensemble’…There are just so many images from the shoot so these posts may continue for quite some time! Thank you Ciúin!
.My friend and I were just talking about the kind of stuff we wear on a night out, and how maybe we should ‘tone it down’ a bit…then I decided, well no, when I’m 70-odd, I’ll look back at my 20-odd year old self and say - ‘why the hell didn’t you go even crazier you silly girl.’ So in conclusion, I dress the way I do on a night out in order to keep my future self satisfied. As good a reason as I can muster.
Gown - Around €120.00 Karen Millen, Kildare Outlet Village.
Belt - €15.00 Bay Trading
Feather Bolero - €5.00 Sue Ryder Charity Shop, Kilkenny.

P.S I am going to start doing the normal macbook camera outfit posts again though, as I don’t tend to wear ballgowns toddling about the place on a day to day basis..well, maybe every second day..

Just a quick post to say a huge thank you to House and Home magazine for including me in their ‘Hot 100 People, Places and Products’ in this month’s edition, out now. I genuinely love this magazine, so it was a complete honour and thrill to be in this issue….

I learned today that my car has to be scrapped, following my altercation with black ice over Christmas. Must buy a new one. I reckon I’ll either have to get a banger for the time being, or, if funds are relatively stable, a Nissan Figaro. I know they’re pretty common now, but I’ve wanted one for 8 years so…
However, if all else fails, I’ll get this moped. Yes it looks like a dodgem car, but I kind of need it.

Some people just get it so ridiculously right, it makes you want to hang your hat up and retire. These images are seriously aspirational for me…aiming to replicate the same kind of feel in our new photography studio in Kilkenny…the last image is exactly how I would like it - signage just so, and industrial salvage all over the place. Oh and a random model strolling about in couture. Perfect!

How beautiful was the snow? Much nicer than rain. That’s my profound weather thought for the day.
Here are four snow-bound looks I quite like, two from Lookbook, and two from two new Irish style blogs..yay! The third image is from Rhona’s new blog > Rose Tinted Uncertainty. Rhona has an incredibly lovely and eclectic vintage style, and her imagery is fantastic. bookmarked!
The fourth image is from Anna’s new blog - A Style Girl. I’m already quite in love with this blog, and her inspirational style and posts. Check them out and do say hello!

I know we all have those days, days that just crowd you out, take you over, won’t let you feel in any kind of control. You can’t get your thoughts in order, you just don’t know these words that are turning around over and over in your mind, words you never thought before but are now there in capital letters, shoving out the nice words, pleasant words, future words. Just a bad day full of a whole lot of not good. Well, it’s been a while since I’ve had a day like that, and all I can say is, I’m officially done with them. Life is good. It’s just a beautiful, beautiful, wonderful day, and I am in a good mood.
I hope you are too, wherever you are, whoever you’re with, and if you’re not, get there. Find someone who makes you smile. Go out and laugh and have a skate on the ice and wrap up warm and put some lip gloss on and call back your friend and stay up late and get up late and eat some chocolate and listen to music and practice being in a good mood ’til the good mood comes…
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Moselle Foley is just an exceptional photographer, who has a true passion for all things camera related..(she owns about 17 cameras, mix of vintage, classic and modern, legend!)
She’s also great to work with, we shot these in natural light in the sitting room of my apartment, and it was a very relaxing day altogether.
Visit Moselle’s website >here<

I apologise for the long holiday from the blog, had a car crash, so spent a while relaaaxing, and have been making up for the relaxing over the last few days. Hangovers aside, it’s back to business, with a whole load of new post ideas for the New Year, as well as keeping the old ones ticking over too. Hopefully…
To start with, I must have this camper-bike design bu Kevin Cyr. Must have it. Not quite sure what I’d do with it, cycle into town and kip in it after a night out? Bring it to New York and live in it? Just look at it every day and tell it; ‘you’re cool and I own you..’?
