Here is the official timetable and information on the stands for the ‘Absolut Style at Set’ weekend which we’re organising for the ‘SET’ theatre, Langton House Hotel, Kilkenny. It takes place this Easter Bank Holiday weekend!

FILM FRIDAY

Tickets are 8 euro for the entire day, and you can pop in and out as you please!

Friday is a chilled out blissed out day, no stands, just cinema – with five fashion inspired films running throughout the day. There’ll be popcorn and sweets goody bags, food available to buy and soft drinks. It is Good Friday after all! The pubs are closed, so why not round up a few of  your friends and come in, chill out, watch the movies, eat something… Here’s the lineup:

2pm – ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ 

4pm – ‘Valentino - The Last Emperor’

6pm – ‘The September Issue’ 

8pm – HBO’s ‘Grey Gardens’

10 pm- ‘Sex and the City : The Movie’

STYLE SATURDAY

****DAY TIME 10am - 6pm****

FASHION STANDS (in SET)  

Dirty Fabulous Vintage :Dirty Fabulous have a beautiful collection of over 200 high end vintage occasion dresses - perfect for weddings, bridal wear, balls, work functions, even afternoon tea in the garden! You can be confident in the knowledge that when dressed by Dirty Fabulous no one will turn up wearing the same outfit as you.

Vertigo Vintage : Owned by Maeve Brady Vertigo Vintage have an eclectic collection of vintage and retro clothes and accessories, and show at the Howth Sunday Market in Dublin. They also have stock in Rebekah Patterson’s store in Kilkenny.

Perk Up! Vintage : Perk Up! is a vintage store which supplies vintage and revamped clothing in Dublin, owned by sisters Sharon and Lisa Perkins. The inspiration behind their store comes from a desire to provide unique vintage garments and make them accessible, affordable and wearable for modern women.

Rebekah Patterson Milliner: Rebekah makes unique, comfortable, striking hats and headpieces. Each piece is tailored to suit the personality and can be dyed to ensure a perfect match for your special day or event. At the Absolut Style at Set event, Rebekah will be showing the new Petal range specifically dedicated to this season’s brides.Also on display will be two pieces which were specifically designed for recent awards ceremonies, the ‘IFTA’S’ and the ‘Oscars

K. Kajoux handmade jewellery : K Kajoux creates hand- crafted original designs, each piece of pretty is made using semi precious indigenous stones and Swarovski crystals. K Kajoux creates affordable and individual pieces and also offers a bespoke service for something special.

FURNITURE STANDS (in Bridies)

Original Compulsive Design : Here you will find vintage design items from mid century and 20th Century designers. The store specialises in accessible and affordable original vintage 20th century design, furniture, ceramics, art and glass.

Eclectic Interiors : Eclectic Interiors is run by Selina Gittins, who restores, paints and renovates  antique country furniture. Along with finished pieces, she stocks smaller vintage curios and contemporary pendant lightshades, in an eclectic mix of contemporary country style.

Kilkenny Architectural Salvage Yard : Kilkenny Architectural Salvage and Antiques which is run by Robin Maharaj. Whether you’re looking for a unique piece of garden furniture, an iron fireplace, patio slabs or chimney pots, they have a huge array of antique and salvaged materials available on site.

HAIR AND BEAUTY STANDS (upstairs in Bridies)

Kieran O’Gorman :  Kieran is  one of the foremost innovators in his industry, an award winning stylist and owner of the Kieran O’Gorman Hair and Day Spa  five-star salon located on Kilkenny’s historic Butterslip. Kieran and his team will be doing up-styles using Kerastase products for the night ahead!

Gosh Makeovers : Get your face done for the night ahead for just €10.00 using Gosh’s vibrant and fashion forward makeup range!

Mint Health & Beauty : This new salon will be offering fake tan sprays, eyebrow threading, Dermalogica mini-facials and manicures on the day, so get beautified!

FASHION SHOOTS (upstairs in Bridies)

Shutterbug (the new studio I’m opening with my brother Eoin) will be on site, with full studio lighting and backdrop to photograph you and your friends after your mini makeovers! Shots will be digitally enhanced to produce a more vintage colour tone. Prints are available to buy instantly, or online!

FOOD FAIR (in the Courtyard)

Candy Floss, Cupcakes, Cookies, Hot Dogs, Crepes, Popcorn, Sweets and a FULL menu from Langton’s means you shall not go hungry! : )

THE MEN’S DEN (Harry’s Bar)

Is he wrecking your happy shoppy vibe? Dump him in the Men’s Den in Harry’s Bar, where we’ll have sport on the telly, whiskey to taste, finger food to eat and magazines to read. Happy days. 

WINE TASTING (The Tea Rooms)

Don’t know enough about vino? Head to one of our many wine tasting sessions in the Tea Rooms! Try not to drink too much.Emphasis on ‘try.’ 

STYLE, HAIR AND INTERIORS MASTER CLASSES (in SET theatre)

2pm - Style Master Class :’Your Capsule Wardrobe’ with Annmarie O’Connor (Irish Examiner, I Blog Fashion). Say goodbye to those ‘what will I wear’ days with a practical guide to the top ten items every wardrobe needs and answers to the most common fashion dilemmas. Featuring clothes from Arnotts, Dublin.

3pm - Hair Master Class with Kieran O’Gorman Kieran brings his incredible seminar to SET, and will be advising on face shape, hair texture and what you need to explain to your stylist during consultation.  Basically, how to communicate what you want, and also how to listen to what your stylist recommends!

3.30pm - Interiors Master Class ‘Your Tailor Made Home’ with Simon Rawlings (from international design house ‘David Collins Studio’) Simon shows us how to inject glamour into our homes through simple little decorative changes to everyday items! He will go through his previous work, latest projects, and talk about what interior design entails, what makes a good interior designer, and about the process. He will talk about the ‘SET’ theatre, which Dvid Collins Studio designed, and unveil details about Langton’s new project ‘Bridies’. 

4.30pm - 6.30pm Style Master Class : ‘Dress For Your Shape’ with Laura Cunningham (TV3, Laura Cunningham Style) Laura brings her highly successful roadshow talk to SET! Find out which body shape you are, and how to flatter that fabulous figure perfectly! She will speak on stage for 45 minutes, then will join you at a stand at Absolut Style at Set to offer you one-on-one consultationsuntil 6.30pm.

Entrance €5.00 with FREE West Coast Cooler on arrival. Over 20’s Nightclub, I.D required. 

8pm - The Mad Hatters Tea Party 

Get here early because places are limited! SET will be bedecked with tables of alcoholic cupcakes and petite sandwiches to soak up the special offer jugs of cocktails! Do wear a fancy hat, or just be a bit mad. Either or…

9.30pm  - The Stylebitches Night Out :

9.30pm - The Stylebitches take to the decks  blasting out the classics such as ‘Baby Got Back’ and ‘Rhythm is  a Dancer’..come on, you LOVE it!

11.30pm - DJ Conor Behan brings the Dolly Parton mixed with Passion Pit madness, he’s rustling up his outfit as we speak. 

DEMENTED dress code - go a little mad, as mad as you want to be. Sure why not!  Spot prizes on the night for best dressed! Along with PLENTY of other surprises! 

And that, my dears, is Saturday - full on. So, for Sunday - it all calms down a little.

SOULFUL SUNDAY 

Entrance €8.00 with luxury goody bags for the first 200 people! (Don’t worry, we have other goody bags for everyone else!)

****DAY TIME 11am - 6pm ******

The Fashion, Furniture, Hair, Beauty and Photoshoots will trade from 11am-6pm in SET and Bridies. 

The Food Fair will also run from 11am - 6pm with Live jazz Music for you to unwind to…nothing too loud. We promise. : )

Films will be shown in SET all day instead of talks, so relaaax and watch classics such as ‘Gone With The Wind’ and ‘The Way We Were’

The Men’s Den moves to upstairs in the Smoking Area of 69 John St.

Wine Tasting Classes will take place in the Tea Rooms. 

All in all, it’s the perfect day to recover form the perfect night before…

…and then you’re refreshed for the night again! Hurrah!

8pm - Casino Night - Don your glad rags, it’s time to spin the roulette wheel! Alcoholic cupcakes and special cocktails abound!

9.30pm - Soul Kitchen. One of THE best nights in Kilkenny, with soulful, indie, urban and retro sounds from DJ Davy Holland. 

VINTAGE dress code - get prettified! Wear something you bought at the weekend! : )
