How’s that working out for you? You know, the thing where you take some time out to pull the covers of the ‘lonely, miserable life you think you deserve’ over your head? Fulfilling your own prophecy of solitude and doom…regardless of the fact that we both know you wouldn’t actually mind being ‘happy.’  Anyway, congratulations on all of that… oh, but…one thing… you do realise that what you’re doing is a choice, don’t you?

Just checking.

Stuff everywhere - I love it. Not clutter though. I have a slight loathing of everyday stuff being on display - like kitchen counters full of normal kitchen stuff, or sitting rooms covered in everyday bits and bobs. It’s my slight OCD - comfort for me, is not just about having somewhere to slouch, but also that everything should be easy on the eye. Bright pink cheapy magazine in a cream room? I can’t handle that - but magazine with interesting cover, no problem. Pathetic but true.

I’d also like to say that I’m not even remotely tidy - but I do think that if you put the time in to making a room look beautiful and restful, then have hiding places for the stuff that takes away from that - obviously without reaching levels of panicked ‘take your shoes off!’ dementedness though… : )

I haven’t done an outfit post in a while, what with all the work and being a leeetle tired, I haven’t really felt that eh..camera ready. This is my baby step back into it all though - a couple of images of the amount of rings I am currently wearing. Perhaps you are the same - I seem to go through extreme phases - at times I can’t stand jewellery, and then, like now, I can’t seem to put enough of it on myself.

Here are the details:

Red ring from Dirty Fabulous - I bought this at the Absolut Style at Set weekend, I’m incredibly in love with it - the lady who designed it worked with Christian lacroix, and you can tell…the attention to detail is astounding. The ladies in Dirty Fabulous have a fantastic eye - I wanted ALL of their stuff. Bought a stunning silk jersey dress from them too, going to use it in an upcoming shoot with Ciúin Tracey.

Green ring from K Kajoux - Also purchased at the Absolut Style at Set weekend, K Kajoux’s stand was one of the absolute highlights for me. All of her jewellery is handcrafted, and this little gem was only €10! Love it, haven’t taken it off since I bought it..Contact details for her on the way!

Daisy stacking rings - in LOVE with these rings, made to stack together or mixed in with other jewellery. These were sent to me as a gift, but I never recommend anything unless I actually like it - I’d rather send it back. I put these on the day I got them, and I literally haven’t taken them off since. Here’s the info> Daisy stack rings are available from stockist nationwide and come in sizes small, medium and large. Individual rings range in price from €30 to €94. See the full range >here<.

Diamond ring - My old engagement ring - vintage style with Rennie Macintosh detail on the sides. Odd to still wear your engagement ring? Perhaps, but I love it as a ring.

Turquoise ring - this was my ‘replacement’ engagement ring when the diamond one was being resized, I actually love it more than the real one, even though (or maybe because of the fact..) it was a fraction of the price, from Monsoon Accessorize.

Anyway, that’s the fist step, outfit posts to follow shortly. Maybe. Yes…definitely. Definitely maybe.. ; )

”One can only live while one is intoxicated with life; as soon as one is sober it is impossible not to see that it is all a mere fraud and a stupid fraud!”  Tolstoy.

I have all the attributes of a drug addict, without the chemical materials to substantiate that character. I’m constantly seeking the challenge and intensity of the highs, and when I get them, I start to regret leaving behind the mellowness of the non-days. Then, once the demented period is over, I am itching for the manic levels once more. I can’t sit still. I can’t decide if I can make a decision to make up my mind to know what it is that I want…so for now, I’l just take it as it comes. Easy day today, maybe a hard day tomorrow, but concentrate on only changing the manic!/relaxed! record to fit the day today and stop worrying about when a particular period will end, when it will come back, and how I’ll manage it all when it does return. I think, after the last year, I should have confidence in the fact that I’ll manage just fine.

Just trawling the internet for stuff to finish off the studio, and stumbled on the above…I love this window film by UK designer Emma Jeffs. At £49.00 a roll plus delivery, it’s pretty perfect as an alternative to blinds and curtains.

I’m slighty in lust with the defragmented approach to shoots at the moment, would love to do stuff like this in the new studio. (add us on facebook >here< if you like!)..images above from Fashion Gone Rogue.

The way you listen, and know when to listen, even though you know that I believe that I have nothing left to say - it’s the way that you do that, which makes me find the way to find the things to say.

I’m so grateful to have you in my life, in all of the ways you’ve been a part of it…

*Update* Proper photos hot off the Eoin press!

Our new studio in Kilkenny is opening on Friday - so we are up against the clock to get it finished! Here’s a little bit of the studio - the seating area…

Chairs: I bought the vintage coffee bean bags from Donkee House on etsy.com. These are a very soft, worn grain, so quite comfortable and not itchy in the slightest…the chairs were two old, horribly dirty things that were being thrown out - introduce one hot glue gun and a staple gun, along with eight hours, abit of Mary Chapin Carpenter and Sigur Ros to invoke patience and hey presto - my new favourite things!

Couches: The couches were cheap, hugely comfortable but covered in an incredibly un-lovely leather. Ripped off the leather, covered the base in €10 painting dust sheets from Pat Mc Donnell paints (again, thank you staple and glue guns), covered the cushions in leftover grain sacks, topped with sheepskin from Ikea and throws from TK Maxx bargain section - which were only €15.00 each! Love the mix of floral and geometric too. Entirely accidental, found each throw in two separate TK’s…

Coffee Table: I had intended to buy industrial castors to make a base for a palette coffee table. While in TK Maxx I found a be-castored table in the sale section for 50 quid! Trundled it home and begged towo silvered palettes from the lovely Jerry and Killian in Historic Interiors, Lusk. (More on their store in later posts, got SO much stuff there, fantastic place.) Eoin drilled them in place and hey presto - random coffee table alert! Sheepskin rug on floor from Ikea, 60’s style straw rugs beside chairs from Nicholas Mosse.

Hope you like it all so far! Lots more photos and details soon!

I would quite like to recreate this George Washington meets an aged Diana Ross look for a shoot in the new studio (which is opening on Friday - scary biscuits.)

It’s pretty much taken me a week to recover and post this after-the-fact piece on last weekend’s Absolut Style at Set weekend. As you may see from my lack of work on the blog of late (sorry!), we put a lot of work into this event, so we’re delighted that everyone seemed to enjoy it..!

The event was also juuuust a bit of a success for it’s first year out, with over 1500 people through the doors from Film Friday straight through to Sunday’s Soul Kitchen nightclub….which was such a relief - I had nightmares of it just being a couple of us standing there twiddling our thumbs.. :)

There I was, being consumed by a make believe  masquerading as a distraction disguised as real life. Now here I am, back in this place, testing all the doors to see which one will take me out of here. Remarkably, most of them seem to say ‘tomorrow’ or ‘this person’ or ‘that place’ or some other imagining that’s completely intangible…I have no idea what I’m talking about, all I know that I feel the need to go somewhere to do something, while at the same time feeling quite happy to stay here. I wonder when that feeling will go away, so that I can just enjoy this wonderful life that I have, one hundred per cent…

It’s going to be a very interesting year….
