This socks thing is probably a little out of control, but it’s f-f-f-freezing in the studio at the moment! These are grey woolen tights cut up to make the ’socks’ extra bulky. Shoesas before, and these are the jeans I happened to be wearing in my first ever outfit post! Ahhhh memoriiiiies! (Of eh…just a year ago…)
Apologies for tired face. Any other self-employed people find August to be a particularly scary/tough month? We seem to be spending the start of September just cleaning up after it…
Above is a shockingly grainy camera-phone photo from a wedding I went to the day I got my hair dyed ’smoky blonde’- although you can see the grey tone itself more clearly in this photo. In the socks photo, it’s definitely a bit more washed out looking and heading back towards golden blonde. Thinking about going white/silver…
Oh and the dress I wore to the wedding was a length of tulle I found in the fabric section of Lucy’s Lounge in Temple Bar., which cost me €20.00. I then spent €9.00 on nude underwear from Penneys, wrapped the tulle around me in the shape of a dress and sewed it on to my underwear. The belt is vintage, the shoes are from Topshop, the diamond pinky ring and necklace are vintage… and how dapper does Dave look?! ; )
I have been thinking about changing my hair colour for some time - I’m going between:
1. Peachy-pink…
2. Go a little sandier.
3 & 4. Go sandy at the roots down to around my ears, stay blonde at the ends and add some length.
5. Apologies for the crap photo - add some length, and go twisted dreads style (not actual dreads…) Definitely doing this for Electric Picnic anyway.. : )
As you may or may not know from me going on and on about it, I’m organising ‘Absolut Style at Set’, a vintage fashion, film and furniture fair for Langton’s House Hotel, Kilkenny ( 2nd, 3rd and 4th of April.) It’s to showcase their newSETtheatre, which is quite lovely and beautiful, designed by interiors guru David Collins.
My brother Eoinis a photographer, so we did a shoot in the SET theatre for our press package, and here are the results!
Hair piece : Hand dyed Silk Chiffon and Velvet headpiece/corsage adorning a birdcage veil: €100.00 and Vintage Brooch: €15.00 both from Millinery By Rebekah Patterson ,The Market Slip, Kilkenny.
I don’t usually post five photos of myself, but these just looked creepy all in a row. Everyone needs a creepy post on their blog. Allegedly.
My hair also changes, as I took the first before I headed over to Anton in the Hair Court in Kilkenny. He was doing a training session and needed someone who’s hair was ‘easy to work with..’ For this read ‘incredibly dry and easily backcombed’..i like what he did - very simple and elegant. All done in about 15 minutes, with hardly any pins. It’s some new way of doing it. My scalp thanks him for it.
Outfit:

Black tshirt - H&M
Tie Dyed leggings - Penneys

P.S this post is based on this video. I know. I need to get off the internet.
* EDIT * : See the back of the hair after the jump…!
I haven’t got a lot of photos yet from EP, but no doubt more to come, I didn’t bring a camera with me so relying on the others!
I don’t really know what’s going in the top photo but I imagine my state of mind is still on the random planet that is the Electric Picnic. What a fantastic weekend…. MGMT, Orbital, Marina & The Diamonds, Billy Bragg, Brian Wilson, Chic, 2 Many DJs, Simian Mobile Disco, Florence & The Machine, Fleet Foxes, Passion Pitt (**BEST GIG**) and The Flaming Lips…
Hair by Joan in Anna Danielle’s again - she’s just great! The static in the tent however, meant it went from ‘Krusty the Klown Goes Ghetto’ on Thursday (bottom picture) to fairly tame (top picture), but it was still the best, low maintenance hairstyle for the weekend. Oh and I got the big shoulder padded 80’s style top in Oxfam for 7 euro, I have no intention of ever wearing anything ever again!
With all the best intentions, I missed meeting Pa and am gutted!… Next year , we’ll make it a mission.

Below…’Passion Pit’ - best gig at E.P in my humble opinion..
I decided to get my makeup done in Mac in Brown Thomas on Saturday evening, I was having one of those ‘My Face Isn’t Working’ days, so thought the makeup session would prop me up for the night out ahead. I managed to get an appointment with Dee, a funky art student who spent an hour pampering and applying the head offa me…she’s really talented, particularly at eye makeup.
The cost?.. You buy €25.00 worth of products and they do your face for free, and I can honestly say, it was the best 25 bills I’ve spent in a long-ass time.
