I’ll be needing this t-shirt. Not sure why, maybe just to blow everyone’s mind at the next Shrek 3D movie or something.
Just $28.00 on Etsy >here<! (As you can see, I have revived my etsy addiction…)
WAIT! Elin Kling below, Lion King here!??! I just blew my own mind. ; )

I have a little style crush on blogger/stylist Elin Kling. Mostly the combination of too-glamorous trousers with little knits. Hello Winter, you are done.

Here’s a little wishlist I put together this evening, following minor meltdown over previous post photo. It’s subject to change - as in - be added to….
I’ve linked to the item where possible - apologies in advance if you like it, buy it and then blame me for funding issues. Personally I blame Alex Donald and Pa Byrne for introducing me to Asos, so let’s all just blame themfor EVERYTHING! Yay! ; )

Topshop Tie Dye Marble t-shirt. - £35.00
ASOS Black beaded headband - €60.88
Topshop Wisteria Chiffon Wedges - £70.00
Jeffrey Campbell Litas - $159.99

I go through phases of loving or loathing the ring/bracelet situation - but I’ve never been a huge fan of necklaces. Until I saw this photo. This photo has made me change my style wish-list completely. This photo MADE me buy a costume necklace and have my eye on another. I’m also now heading back toward grey and white on the clothes front. Stripping it all back - which can only mean one thing - selling all my old stuff. Hmmm. Must think about that seriously.

I genuinely love the new Oxfam t-shirts. created in association with a range of Irish Designers. The collection is called ‘We Are Tee’ and includes designs by Joanne Hynes, Peter O’Brien, Eilis Boyle, Una Burke and Alison Connelly.
Prices range from €30- €35 and are exclusively available to purchase from A/wear.com. All orders come with free delivery direct to your door courtesy of A|wear. All the proceeds from the sale of the T-shirts will go to Oxfam Ireland.
Beautiful styling by the lovely Angela Scanlon, shot by the talented Johnny Savage. I also recognise two faces in the above shot, a Miss Alex Donald and Kelly Barnes - don’t they all look fantastic? Well played ladies! : )

I’ll be needing these boots. In the above colour and possibly in red and black too. In fact I believe I could wear these for the rest of my life and be happy. (on a shoe-owning happy level, not in general.)

The other day I had a chance to meander through the interweb… which is actually a fairly rare occurrence these days so I very much try to take full advantage. I stumbled on the blog Pop Culture Afternoon and I just love it - especially the beautiful outfit posts. Here are a few of my favourites above.
I finally got a camera sorted (thanks D) so hopefully my outfit posts will be a little more interesting. : )
Apologies for the absence yesterday - in fact there have been a good few days here and there where I haven’t been a regular blogger-type person. I don’t mean to offer excuses but, apart from work, my hospital appointments do toddle on and take up time - but it looks like the next three months are all my own so happy days! Although…a little holiday may well be in order in that time! : )
Ramble ramble ramble….

Slightly in love with some of these looks from ASOS. I never go on to the ASOS site though. Not because I don’t love it…but I like my money right where I can see it - in my landlord’s pocket. : )

I don’t have pierced ears, and I find clip-ons quite uncomfortable. I do love Jonsi. All of this leads me to believe and deduce that I should own one of this feather ear cuffs from Style Hurricane. They cost around $35.00 and I must own one..or two. Not sure which - maybe just the silver crosses, or go mad and get the silver crosses and feathers. Actually I think I’d get the silver crosses with >these< feathers AND a second pair with the red feathers. Am in love.
Buy them via Style Hurricane.

Slightly in love with her entire look lately.

Random… 1st photo from H&M, fourth photo from a home the actress Julianne Moore designed, and finally, Miss Wasson.

I was planning a Joanne Hynes post for Irish week but Styleisle.ie has actually done a far better job than I had ever intended….so all I will just say that not only are Joanne Hynes’ designs beautiful, but her website is quite incredibly cool AND she comes across as a very interesting person in interviews. I think she’s one designer whose clothes I could happily wear forever.
Visit her website < here > and like her on facebook < here >

I hope you don’t mind that I’ve chosen my favourite Irish made item from these stores rather than just feature the stores themselves. I will be doing store posts too, but I just loved these items on their own merit so much I had to share.
1. One of my favourite Irish e-stores, Mabel & Violet, have an entire ‘Made In Ireland’ section which is fantastic. I’m particularly in absolute love with this smoky quartz cocktail ring from Juvi. €89.95
2. Richard Conway pointed me in the direction of Kathy Coleman’s shop on etsy - ‘Girl Can’t Talk’. How much do I need this yellow feathered bib in my life? THIS much. Amazingness. $80.00
3. It wouldn’t be a post on Irish hand-made-edness withouth featuring the craftsmanship from Bonzie. This duo never cease to impress, and their new tiered skirt design is most definitely on my wish list. I would wear it all day long while eating lots of cake and drinking champagne. I’m not sure why I’d feel the need to do those things - it just seems like the proper way to spend the day while wearing tulle. $190.00
Lots more posts on the way..!

A small part of me wants to throw everything out and just dress like this from here on in….
From Acne.

I’ll have more thoughts on the clothes as we get closer to the weekend, but for now, I’m thinking plaits or twisted dreads, 70’s, wedges (yes, I know, but I’m doing it..!) fringing, velour, clear sunglasses, blonde, blonde hair, hats, men’s grey hoodies with the arms cut off, looking generally shady and happy and having fun thoughts in a magical make believe place. *sigh* I love Electric Picnic. it’s insane. In a good way.
The girl in the last photo….I love her hair and glasses. Not sure the outfit would go down so well at EP.

I like the scribbles, the font and the look, the posters, the cross.
The cross could potentially become a wet afternoon’s project.

My new favourite silhouette. Short but with volume. Tight waist. Covered shoulders.

Not sure how demented it will look but sure, why not! I wish Jessica Simpson’s ridiculously high shoes above were available internationally though. When I tried to say this to Laura earlier, I accidently said ‘I wish Jessica would deliver her shoes internationally.’ I know a couple of gentlemen who would order continuously if that was actually the case.

I know an Erin Wasson post is pretty standard every now and again on a sometime-fashion blog, but I am just ever so slightly in love with these three looks I found while trawling around the internet. Every time I try to step away from black, it just lures me back in…
xBlanaid

I know every fashion blogger in the entire world has probably posted these images of Givenchy with text along the lines of ‘my future wedding dress’…allow me to go one step further and say I refuse to get married in anything less than a somewhat decent knock-off of one of these dresses. Let’s be honest, even if I ever had that many millions, I still don’t think I could stand by spending haute couture shaped monies on anything.

This round-up is inspired by a new style direction I’ve been thinking about - a little bit softer, a tiny bit more colour, more of the jewellery, a return to bag carrying, but basically just coming to terms with the fact that I’m scruffy and no amount of polishing me up will make me look like a pretty girl.
I spent much of my resting time wandering aimlessly around the interweb, right clicking and so forth. Usually I always have links back to the owner of images I use, but on the next couple of posts, I am as bewildered as you as to where they came from…if you know or are the owner please let me know and I’ll add the link stat!

How is this for amazing? I’ve always secretly longed to be a bit of a wilderness urchin, living in a tent, not bothering with the washing or the makeup. I have now realised such a life would be inimitably better in haute couture and duvets tied to my dirty self. While being photographed by Steven Meisel. For Vogue. Yes - I’ll take it.

Ah, Summer in Ireland, when it chooses to behave itself, what more could you ask for from the place you live? Seriously thinking about buying a caravan, and heading off to an Irish beach any weekend that the sun comes out to play. Just a cheap caravan - paint the hell out of it, add some fancy bits, buy a barbecue, throw in some lounge chairs, hitch it all up and hit the road.

I love this shoot, via Knightcat’s blog - would love to do a shoot along these lines soooon! Need brunette model…

I would quite like to recreate this George Washington meets an aged Diana Ross look for a shoot in the new studio (which is opening on Friday - scary biscuits.)
xBlanaid

Found this incredible shoot via one of my favourite Irish fashion blogs, ‘The Style Strutter‘, which is written by Corkonian Cathy Lawson. The shoot is for Vogue Paris, featuring model Natasha Poly. Makes me want to go and buy some patterned pieces.

P.S (Also inspired by Cathy’s P.S..) …Although Blanaid.com didn’t make it to the finals of the Irish Blog Awards, I’m thrilled that myself and Laura Cunningham’s satirical fashion blog ‘The Stylebitches’ made the shortlist for ‘Best Newcomer.’ Thank you for nominating us! x

My taste is slowly, ever so slooowly, reverting back to bygone days - all beehives, nipped in waistlines, full skirts. This shoot is by Terry Tsiolis for Russian Vogue, featuring Inga Eriksdottir, and, while there aren’t many pieces of clothing going on, I love it.
