Here are a couple of images photographer Moselle Foley took on our break from the ballgown shoot in the apartamento. She used her Yashica camera for these shots - I actually think they’re my favourite, I just love the retro tones…

That’s all, just thought I’d share - thanks a million Mo! (Apologies for the mess in the background!)

“Style is the perfection of a point of view” Richard Eberhart

Or… “Please may I borrow your point of view…?” Me.

My style is currently in limbo, hence the lack of actual outfit posts. I am trying to ’soften’ my look, following advice from a male friend, but it is SO hard to let go of the black. I’m addicted. So here’s the transtional table, I have to start by mixing black with (shock horror!) other colours and (faint) patterns. Then slowly head to neutral territory, while still firmply grasping a small security blanket bit of black. I can do it.

It may take some time. And a new wardrobe. And some more money to buy said same wardrobe.

Image 1 - Love this entire look. On the list goes : Mac, Breton top, decent black shorts and thigh highs.  Via Because I’m Addicted

Image 2 - I have all manner of black glittery things, but should mix with lighter colours. On the list  goes : pale glitzy things. Via Fashion Gone Rogue

Image 3 - How to wear the khaki trend - the incredible Mireia from My Daily Style does it best : with a hoody and leather leggings.

Image 4 - This kind of colour I can take. On the list goes : navajo style tribal overcoat/cardi. Via Facehunter

Image 5 - Grey! That’s like black, but lighter! I am in love with all things maxi this year. On the list goes : More maxi dresses, more grey. ; ) Via Le Fashion  Image.

Image 6 - Socks with shoes. I know many hate them, but I like. On the list goes : More socks..more shoes (genuinely, I have a woeful collection.) Via Knightcat.

Image 7 - Eleganto! I think I might try some of that -see how it fits.On the list goes : Camel cape. Via Facehunter

Anything on your list at the moment?

Do you ever feel that you are  running low on common sense? That the space it generally rents out in your brain has become completely occupied by information and decisions…? The ability to make a decision based on emotion, rather than fact, has also been asked to leave. I wonder if you can ask it to come back sometime…you know, when work calms down and terrifying episodes are over with, can you ask it to come back so you can start feeling things again? Just feel them, without analysing them, or investigating the myriad of potential outcomes instead of just saying yes. Can you pretend, and just say yes, even if you can’t feel anything… is that a sign that you’re open to wanting it back for real? Or should you just wait, and hope, that someday, life will be more than just a decision.

(Again, I hope this makes some kind of sense.)

Photographer Moselle Foley and I did a shoot last December in my apartment, with my miniature collection of ballgowns. To be honest, apart from the excuse of getting to work with Moselle, I just wanted to give the dresses a day out. They were feeling a bit neglected. I need to wear them somewhere…anywhere!…hmmm - Coppers?

I’m a huge fan of Moselle’s creative approach to photography, really looking forward to working with her again soon! See her website >here<, and her flickr page >here<.

The dress is by Ema Savahl. Thanks again Moselle!

Isn’t it looovely…! This was the kitschy loveliness of part of the Terence Conran shop in Arnotts, which had been especially created for the Fashion Bloggers’ Brunch on Saturday. Annmarie O’Connor of I Blog Fashion did another wonderful job of organising this, one of my favourite events to attend. Sarah in Arnotts made sure that the bloggers en masse had their fill of afternoon tea…oh and the goody bags, well, they were very generous indeed…. more…

Sometimes, I feel that things can be both completely definite but also completely uncertain at the same time. Like, I definitely need to do something, but I’m uncertain how to do it, but I’m definite in the fact that I’ll figure it out, but I’m still uncertain as to what ‘it’ is exactly.

The only thing I am definite about at this moment in time, is that I don’t have to react to uncertainty. I don’t have to remove myself from a situation because of it, or try and change things to remove it from the situation. Because the only thing that’s definite, for all the stress it causes - is that the uncertainty is the interesting part. It’s when everything starts becoming definite - well, that’s when it also all starts to get boring.

(I hope this makes sense. It’s been a long week.)

Apologies for the lack of blogging, we are currently ripping our new studio apart, designing websites, brochures, buying furniture and lighting, the list is endless!

I’m heading down a bit of a plywood/wood road with the interiors, here are a few images I’m working from.

Isn’t it interesting how a failed relationship can become one of your favourite friendships? How you really, truly, unselfishly want them to be happy, just because they are kind and brilliant, and one time you loved them, and the best part of that remains.
